about chef lay
lay alston, chef, storyteller, and accessibility advocate, uses food as a tool for connection, joy, and possibility. after sustaining a spinal cord injury in 2020, lay began reimagining the kitchen through the lens of accessibility—crafting immersive dining experiences that center intention and her vision to build out an accessible culinary studio. her work blends culinary creativity and community, with nostalgia and memory, incorporating storytelling to honor both craft and culture.

this tasting menu features a fish-focused, vegetable-forward menu that draws from the rich flavors of the african diaspora and asian cuisines. expect coastal influences, vibrant market vegetables, and seasonal ingredients, and key notes from lay’s journey through food at the heart of each course. while the full menu will be revealed at the table, here’s a taste of what to expect:
– scallion pancake tartlet with locally-caught fish
